Assignments
The Marvellous Musical Theatre course is a one term class with four lessons. There is one due date of 23:59 HOL time, *** January and all work is to be handed in by this time. There will be no extensions given beyond this date. You may attempt the lessons in any order and submit them when you are ready. There will be suggested handing in dates for those who like to do work throughout the term but you do not need to stick to these. Homework and extra credit assignments will accompany the lessons and each will give you a number of options.
Points
There will be four assignments worth 30 points each with extra credit worth 30 points each.
There will be a term exam worth 30 points.
There will be a term project worth 30 points.
There will be a term exam worth 30 points.
There will be a term project worth 30 points.
Quill Requirements
To pass this class you must earn at least 150 points out of a possible 300 and hand in the term exam. You can achieve this without attempting any of the extra credit assignments or the term project but completing these will help you to get the points that you need.
Class Requirements
None - anyone is welcome to take this class. You do not need to have any previous experience of musical theatre or any special musical talents as long as you are interested in this subject and willing to have fun. You do not need to have completed any of my other courses to take this one as it is a stand alone class.
Awards
- Leading Lady - Given to the highest scoring female.
- Leading Man - Given to the highest scoring male.
- Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre - Given to anyone scoring over 250 points.
Students can also be awarded one of the following awards for their Extra Credit assignments:
- Stephen Sondheim Award for Writing - For students who have excellent research skills.
- Sarah Brightman Award for Musical Talent - For students brave enough to attempt the musical option.
- Oliver Smith Award for Design - For students who impress me with their art contributions.
NOTE: There is no award for the Puzzle option of the EC.
A reminder...
- This is a HOL class and so all HOL rules apply.
- Any videos linked in lessons are HOL appropriate but the comments posted on the youtube pages may not be. It is not recommended that you visit the youtube pages but instead you should watch the videos directly on the lesson page.
